Next up on the EMSDC Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (MBEIC) Podcast In Business: What Matters Most, Bony Dawood, President of Dawood Engineering, joins our hosts. In 1992, Bony Dawood founded Dawood Engineering – a conglomerate of companies providing civil engineering, surveying and mapping, structural design, geotechnical engineering, environmental permitting and remediation, geographic information systems, and construction management and oversight – and has since grown the company to serve clients nationwide in the industries transportation, energy, utilities, land development, and real estate. Mr. Dawood is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, and for creating a culture of continual improvement. Outside of the office, he holds positions on several boards including those of EMSDC and EMSDC’s MBEIC, along with UPMC Hanover Hospital and the Asian Indian Americans of Central Pennsylvania.

Jay Burks, PhD. In his role, Dr. Burks is responsible for implementing policies and procedures to increase opportunities for diverse-owned businesses in procurement. Before joining Comcast’s team, he served as the Executive Director of the State of Delaware’s Office of Supplier Diversity. Dr. Burks boasts more than 20 years of experience in all facets of business. Additionally, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses for over 15 years in both traditional and online environments.
