Are You Engaged: The Importance of Attending EMSDC Events to Connect with Corporate Partners

The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) certifies and connects minority-owned businesses throughout Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware with member corporations, in an effort to advance economic equity and access to the American Dream. We work tirelessly to foster the development of MBEs with a targeted goal in mind: to better align them with corporations in an effort to initiate growth and opportunity through Supplier Diversity channels. We do this in a number of ways, but we can’t do it alone.

The Journey to MBE Growth

According to our national chapter (NMSDC), “The journey to MBE growth starts with certification, the trusted foundation for engagement” with our vast network of corporate members. NMSDC has “more than 700 national corporate members that represent some of America’s largest public and privately-owned global companies,” as well as a wealth of additional corporate members partnering directly with regional affiliates like EMSDC. For entrepreneurs, taking advantage of networking opportunities and putting in the effort to connect with these corporate partners is critical for success!

Capitalizing on Certification Benefits

EMSDC’s corporate partners are committed to supplier diversity, and they are looking to make the most of their membership by building strategic business relationships, alliances, and joint ventures for success. And while our MBEs benefit from “being certified with the largest national organization whose certification is uniformly recognized by Corporate America,” they can also get the most out of their certification by engaging and connecting with corporate partners that want to purchase products, services, and solutions offered by minority-owned businesses in our region.

The Importance of Attending Events

We already mentioned that certification is the important first step, but what’s next? If you want to grow your business, find leads, fund projects, and make deals with corporate partners, we can’t stress enough how important it is to attend EMSDC networking events to capitalize on your certification, like ROAR, the Choice Awards, and the upcoming Golf Invitationals and Clinics! Not only will you have a chance to establish and deepen connections with our corporate partners at these and other events, but you will also be able to build beneficial relationships with fellow minority business owners, all in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

If you don’t want to miss out, be sure to visit emsdc.org/emsdc-events/, and stay connected on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. If you are just getting started, we also invite you to learn more about the benefits of MBE certification and corporate membership.
