Back 2 Basics Part 2: A Sneak Peek at the MBEIC 2025 Strategy
In Part 1 of this informative series, we announced the 2025 theme of Transformation and broke down the EMSDC strategy for the upcoming year, based on the quarterly pillars of Development, Partnership, Investment, and Growth. Today, in Part 2, we are sharing an exciting sneak peek at this year’s MBEIC (Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee) strategy. In case you didn’t know, the MBEIC is a dedicated group of ambassadors that serves as a liaison between our corporate members and our certified MBEs in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. In addition to providing advice and guidance on important issues affecting minority-owned businesses in our region, the MBEIC strives to develop new connections, strengthen relationships, and promote programs and initiatives that facilitate growth.
Are you ready? Here is your sneak peek at the MBEIC 2025 strategy!
Annual Focus
Last year, the MBEIC largely focused on helping Class 1 and 2 suppliers grow, as well as encouraging Class 3 and 4 suppliers to actively increase their engagement. This year, our dedicated ambassadors plan to continue in this capacity, in addition to emphasizing the importance of channel partnerships. “As B2B companies seek to expand their reach and scale their operations, channel partnerships offer a strategic avenue for growth. These collaborations allow businesses to leverage existing relationships and networks, facilitating entry into new markets and enhancing product or service offerings,” according to Forbes.
Key Initiatives and Priorities
In addition to targeting our focus for the new year, key initiatives and priorities discussed at our most recent monthly meeting include making opportunities more visible and accessible, facilitating workforce integration among different levels, and zeroing in on local businesses and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) certifications. Shifts in corporate language from diversity to inclusive procurement and the transformation of diversity programs and certifications are also considered topics of vital importance.
Additions to the Events Calendar
The MBEIC MBE Summit and signature EMSDC Events like the Super Matchmaker, the Choice Awards, the ROAR (Return on All Relationships) Conference, and the Youth & Entrepreneur Scholarship Golf Invitational provide valuable opportunities for networking and forging connections between our corporate members and our certified MBEs. Notable additions to the events calendar include a proposed Topgolf gathering to foster collaboration among MBEs and enhance communication channels.
