Celebrate Diversity Month with The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC)

Celebrate Diversity Month this April with The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council by supporting minority-owned businesses in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware, and help us advocate for access to the American Dream for MBEs. Whether you become a corporate member, corporate sponsor (the fastest growing type of marketing in the United States), or donate to our collective cause, your generosity and allyship will have a great and lasting impact in our region.

J.P. Morgan recently noted that, “Supplier diversity is vital for driving innovation, expanding into new markets and fostering a more equitable business climate. It’s also a meaningful tool for economic growth and job creation—especially in often-overlooked communities.” In the words of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), the largest national organization whose certification is uniformly recognized by Corporate America, “Ensuring equitable access for certified MBEs to participate in the business ecosystem is critical in moving our nation forward.”

About the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council

The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization and regional affiliate of the NMSDC. We serve as a growth engine for certified minority business enterprises in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware and assist our corporate members in their efforts to advance economic equity. In the words of the NMSDC, “It’s about upward mobility for the emerging majority of Americans” and “an equal shot at participating in the American experiment of free-market capitalism and entrepreneurship” for minority-owned businesses—because “growth for us is growth for all!”

How We Achieve Our Mission

At the EMSDC, our dedicated team fosters the development of MBEs year-round to better align them with corporations in an effort to initiate growth and opportunity through Supplier Diversity channels. Our mission to stimulate and support economic development with minority-owned businesses is achieved through signature networking events and matchmakers, professional development and award opportunities, industry-led and focused initiatives, and other valuable benefits of certification. But we can’t do it alone.

Celebrate Diversity Month was first recognized in April 2004 and is a time to appreciate and advocate for the incredible diversity that surrounds us. With the recent decision by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and its implications for MBEs, it is imperative to show your support for minority entrepreneurs, now more than ever. The NMSDC states that they are “actively monitoring this and other legal challenges that pose a threat to minority business development.”
