EMSDC Team Spotlight: Alea Bunch

Join the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) as we continue to spotlight our amazing team in the new year. Today, we are pleased to introduce you to Alea Bunch!

Alea Bunch, Director – MBE Services

Alea Bunch has worked with EMSDC for the past seven years and plays a vital role in our organization. As Director of MBE Services, her responsibilities are vast and include advocating on behalf of members and the development of programming for MBEs in collaboration with the EMSDC team. She also oversees the implementation of MBE Liaison Initiatives and services, the annual MBE development needs assessment, external partnerships with advocacy partners, strategic planning with senior leadership, and the coordination of services with the Sr. Director of Business Certification and the MBE Services team.

When asked what she loves most about her position as Director of MBE Services, Alea replied, “I love having the opportunity to serve my community in such an impactful way. I’m a passionate advocate for diverse suppliers that thrives on relationship building and mentorship. I enjoy meeting new entrepreneurs, corporations, and regional partners and learning how their needs/goals align with the mission of EMSDC. I am dedicated to learning new, innovative ways to connect, develop, and scale MBEs and assist with positioning them to effectively compete in the local and global markets. I’m thankful to serve some of the most successful, energetic, and capable entrepreneurs in this region.”

Members and prospective members should reach out to Alea to learn how to leverage their relationships, engage with the council, and identify target customers within and beyond the EMSDC network. Alea adds that her favorite quote reminds her of the EMSDC ROAR acronym and the importance of relationships and engagement: People work with people that they like, know and trust.

“I encourage members to help prospective customers relate to your brand, look beyond your minority status, and learn more about your journey and what drives your business. As a liaison, my intention is to ensure that all parties receive a return on their relationship with EMSDC. Utilize the support of MBE services and gain access to more intentional interactions through various avenues of engagement that will secure and develop long-standing business opportunities and partnerships.

Here are three fun facts about Alea Bunch, in her own words, to help you get to know her better:

  1. “I’m an aspiring entrepreneur and part-time traveling cocktail concierge. I love the energy of the hospitality industry, and I love to travel, experience new things, and meet new people.”
  2. “I’m a loving mother of four.”
  3. “I’m also a new dog mom to a spoiled puppy named Sparky.”
