EMSDC Team Spotlight: Tricina Cash & Kira J. Cofield

Join the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC) as we continue to spotlight our amazing team. Today, we are pleased to introduce you to Tricina Cash and Kira J. Cofield!

Tricina Cash – Executive Vice President

Tricina Cash has been with EMSDC for three and a half years and serves as our Executive Vice President. In this role, she works as a strategist alongside our president/CEO and provides oversight of operations, MarCom, sponsorships, and programming. She is also the contact for questions about strategic partnerships, corporate relations, and external affairs.

Tricina Cash is known for taking innovative approaches in developing MBEs to eventually become level set competitors in the national and global marketplaces. In fact, she says this is what she loves best about her role at EMSDC. When asked about her favorite inspirational message pertaining to her work with EMSDC, Tricina Cash chose a quote from Dr. Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to travel in space: “Never be limited by other people’s limited imaginations.”

Here are two fun facts about Tricina Cash, in her own words, to help you get to know her better:

  1. “I have a great sense of humor that I enjoy sharing with my loved ones, especially my niblings.”
  2. “I enjoy cooking and audiobooks.”

Kira J. Cofield – Marketing Manager

Kira J. Cofield has been our full time Marketing Manager for almost two years, after working with EMSDC for four years prior as an intern. As Marketing Manager, she is in charge of email, social media, and external marketing for EMSDC, stating, “I handle most of the in-house graphic designs and audio/visual editing, and I’m also in charge of special projects, such as podcasts and original video content.”

Kira says that, “Seeing the final production come together; whether it’s the turnout for an event, signage and presentations at an engagement, or the final cut of a video for our social media,” is what she loves most about her role at EMSDC. Members and prospective members can reach out to Kira with questions about social media and mass communication, promotions and campaigns, external relations, podcasts, and other special projects.

Here are three fun facts about Kira J. Cofield, in her own words, to help you get to know her better:

  1. “I started playing piano at five years old and continued through high school. I still take a moment to play when I have access to a piano.”
  2. “I studied abroad in Mexico the summer after freshman year in college, y así puedo hablar un poquito de español.”
  3. “I taught myself how to do my own acrylic nails during spring 2020, due to the COVID shutdowns.”
