Certification/Recertification Application

How to Get NMSDC Certified

Founded in 1972, The National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) is the longest-operating business growth engine for the broadest group of systematically excluded communities of color (Asian-Indian, Asian-Pacific, Black, Hispanic, and Native American). Advocating access to the American dream for MBEs, NMSDC’s success is historic and unmatched

The NMSDC Network includes 23 Regional Affiliates across the country, including The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council (EMSDC), which serves Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Regional Affiliates help certify and match minority-owned businesses with member corporations that want to purchase their products, services, and solutions. They also host educational programs and a wealth of business and networking opportunities.

Per the NMSDC website, “Our impact goes far beyond the supply chain. It’s about upward mobility for the emerging majority of Americans, an equal shot at participating in the American experiment of free-market capitalism and entrepreneurship. Our work is about correcting the unequal access to wealth-building opportunities.”

Getting Certified

To begin the MBE certification process, you will need to apply with the regional affiliate closest to your headquarters. Those in Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, or Delaware can apply here. The steps in the certification process can be found here. Any questions can be directed to certification@emsdc.org.

Feel free to take as long as you need; your information will be saved for your next session and is completely confidential. The processing of your application will begin once payment is received. Please note that the certification process can take up to 90 days. If your application is approved, you will be notified by your regional affiliate, and if the board happens to reject your application, you may submit a letter of appeal.
